Workshop 1: Mastering Ceramic Busts

Date: April 27, 2024 (4h)

Join us for a unique and creative experience where you’ll learn the basics of sculpting as we explore the art of creating a stunning ceramic bust. In this workshop, you will delve into the fundamentals of proportion and expression to bring a face to life through clay.

Unleash your creativity and sculpt your vision into a beautiful piece of art. Let your hands mold the clay, creating unique features and expressions that capture the essence of the human form.

Workshop 2: From Lens to Clay: creating Inspired Ceramic Art from 12 photographers

Date: 1st June, 2024 (4h) 

In the framework of the exhibition of 15 photographers from 9/5 till 1/06/2024 in the gallery in relation with the Photo Festival “les Rencontres Photographiques d’Arlon”, each participant will ignite its creativity by exploring the connection between photography and ceramic art. Participants will delve into the diverse styles and themes captured by 12 talented photographers, drawing inspiration from on peculiar photo to craft unique pieces or completing a photography with an element. This immersive experience encourages participants to translate visual narrative into tangible art forms, fostering deeper understanding of artistic expression and interpretation across mediums. Through hands-on guidance and exploration, attendees will embark on a transformative journey of artistic discovery and innovation. You will be welcome to leave your creation next to the photography till the end of the exhibition and the most beautiful combination will be awarded.

Workshop 3: Functional Art

Date: June 15, 2024  (4h)

In our final workshop, we bridge the gap between art and utility. Learn how to design and craft ceramic plates that are not only beautiful but also functional. Cathy will share her insights on creating items that bring a touch of handmade elegance to everyday life.

Location: Subtile Gallery

Time: 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM & 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM (You are free to take your break out or to continue working till 4pm without any pause)

• Bring an apron or clothes that can get slightly dirty.
• Bring a dish towel and a personal notebook for notes (drawings).
• Materials and clay are provided.
• Firing (2) and glazing are included. your creations will be fired in Cathy’s atelier and will be delivered in the gallery few weeks later
