Sound Art Exhibition: Sull’Impronta – Andrea and Francesco Strizzi (IT-BE) – 21/03-14/04/2024

After two successful exhibitions in Brussels and in the marvelous setting of the “Torre Campanaria,” a unique heritage site recently restored in Castellaro Lagusello, Italy, Francesco and Andrea Strizzi are now settling in Subtile for three weeks.

The exhibition showcases two sculptural research projects that share a common element: the use of imprint to create a “sound space.”
On one side, the testimony of a past sound: fossil-like traces reconstruct a score, enabling a tactile journey of listening.

On the other side: pairs of sensitive elements engage in a relationship of acoustic resonance. While both artworks are characterized by a contrast between flat and curved volumes, between fullness and emptiness, at times it manifests in a single medium offering a photograph of a sound that once existed; at other times, it materializes in a duality of acoustic systems, inert but potentially capable of creating sound.
Conceived in 2018, this project materializes the relationship between tactile perception and auditory perception through the necessary interaction of the viewer, who is invited to touch the artworks while listening to the sounds produced during their creation.

From the outset, this work highlighted a significant opportunity to develop a broader approach aimed at bringing together sighted and visually impaired individuals around a shared artistic production, allowing it to be fully appreciated with or without the sense of sight.
The exhibition will take place from 21 March till 14 April 2024
