As a proud partner of the inaugural Luxembourg Design Festival, Subtile was delighted to present its vision of design through four carefully curated objects, chosen for their originality, sustainability, and profound impact on the human experience.
A Crossroads of International Design
On Friday, November 14th, we had the honor of welcoming the @kulturlx delegation alongside professional design representatives from neighboring countries. This gathering turned the gallery into a vibrant hub of international exchange, celebrating Subtile’s 5th anniversary and its creative energy.
A Sensory Awakening: From Concept to Experience
The morning was designed as a poetic thread between theory and experience, built around the five senses. We aimed to break traditional sensory associations: what you see does not always correspond to what you feel, and even less to what you taste.
• The Transformation of Matter: Since one of our showcased pieces by @eggwave.workset (Yoann Piccardi, winner of the @wbdesignmode 2022 Prix Tremplin) explores the metamorphosis of recycled egg cartons into sculptural acoustic furniture, we mirrored this by serving guests a delicately presented scrambled egg breakfast.
• The Reflection of Elements: We were thrilled to have Sylvain from Atelier Machot present to showcase his extraordinary “Mirror Table.” We played with the scenography by projecting moving water onto its surface, creating a mesmerizing dialogue between light and liquid. To complete this immersive experience, fresh oysters were served, their shells later transformed into bespoke candles for our guests—a symbolic gesture of design’s power to give new life to organic forms.
Design as a Living Curation
At Subtile, design is at once an aesthetic, an ethic, and an experience:

• An Experience: A “gentle sensory illusion” that invites us to slow down, contemplate, and awaken our consciousness.

This milestone reflects a passion for bringing together craftsmanship and decorative arts—disciplines that nurture well-being and personal expression.
