Maike Ambrock, one of the artist we permanently represent in Luxembourg is born in Dortmund and grew up in the beautiful city of Hagen at the river Lenne, made famous in art history by Karl-Ernst Osthaus, the founder of the so-called “Hagen Impulse”. She always had a relationship with colors and creativity, which was also shaped by her father’s painting business. She started painting as a child. As a teenager she had lessons with the painter Pitt Cürlis, then followed painting and drawing courses in various cities (Karlsruhe, Marburg, Lake Constance, Trier and the surrounding area). Her main subjects are landscape painting and architecture in watercolor. Lately She has been trying new technics such as gouache, acrylic, underground with gesso. Since 1994 She lived in Trier, a creative city but she continue to be inspired from trips to Spain, England and Switzerland.
Maike will animate this course of 4 hours to all beginners (kids, teens or adults) in a dedicated place in our gallery. She speaks German and English.
Participants should bring a watercolor paper block of at least 200 g, brushes, watercolors, 2-3 water containers, pencils 2B and 6B, drawing paper, an old smock to wear.
