Catherine Lebrun
Shape the human form through clay
Join us for a ceramic workshop dedicated to head and bust sculpture, guided by Belgian ceramist Cathy Deprez.
Originally a visual artist, Cathy approaches clay with simplicity, delicacy, and expressive freedom, creating works that range from sculptures to functional objects. Her universe is deeply rooted in the material itself — with her hand in the earth and creativity at heart.
You will explore the fundamentals of sculpting while developing your own expressive piece.

What you’ll learn:
•Sculpture techniques for portrait and bust
•Understanding proportions and structure
•Working intuitively with clay
•Developing a personal, expressive approach

Dates & Schedule:
April 18 — 11-13:00 AM to 14-16:00 PM
Duration: 4 hours
Price: EUR 120
In the inspiring atmosphere of Subtile — a place dedicated to art, objects, and meaningful encounters — this workshop invites you to reconnect with the material and your creativity. And if the weather permits, you will enjoy our beautiful garden to get inspired by nature!
Glazing
• Workshops: The glazing session is not included in the initial price. You will need to register for a separate glazing session (€35).
• Special Offer: If you enroll in 2 workshops (April, May or July), we are delighted to offer you the glazing for all your pieces for free
• Important: For all glazing, please confirm your choice of colors at least 4 days before Cathy’s arrival.
A Note on the Craft:
Working with clay is a dialogue with the elements. While Cathy puts every effort into ensuring the stability of your work, the risk of cracks or fissures during firing is an inherent part of the ceramic process that every potter must accept. These “surprises” are part of the unique character of handmade art.
