Unleash Your Creativity: Summer Ceramic Workshops with Cathy!

Get ready to dive into the world of ceramics with our specially designed summer workshops! Whether you're drawn to abstract designs or find inspiration in the beauty of nature, we have a workshop that's perfect for you. Cathy's expert guidance ensures you'll create a unique piece to proudly take home. She'll walk you through every step of the process, making sure your creation is both beautiful and achievable within the session.

Here's what we're offering before the summer holidays:

1. Open Ceramic Modelling & Sculpting Sessions (14/07):

• Your Time, Your Creation: Join us for open studio hours on 14 July in the afternoon and let your imagination run wild! You choose your subject, you choose your time, and you can stay for as long as you wish (minimum 1 hour).

• Flexible & Fun: Whether you want to create a small figurine or tackle a more ambitious sculpture, these sessions are designed to be flexible and fun.

• Pricing: 35 EUR per hour, including firing. We recommend a minimum of 3 hours to create something truly impressive.

2. Potter's Wheel Introduction (July 14th, 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM):

• Experience the "Tournage": Want to try your hand at the potter's wheel? Join us on July 14th from 2-5pm for a 3-hour introduction to this fascinating technique.

• Limited Spaces: We'll have 4 wheels available for this session, so space is limited! Cathy will guide you through the specific techniques of "tournage" (throwing) on the wheel.

3. Glazing Sessions (June 28th & 29th, July 14th):

• Finalize Your Creations: For those eager to put the finishing touches on their ceramic masterpieces, Cathy is offering glazing sessions!

• Bring Your Piece: Whether you made it in our studio (Subtile) or elsewhere, bring your fired piece with you!

• Colour Palette: We offer a wide range of colors to choose from. Please let us know your preferred colours at least 2 days beforehand.

• Next Steps: Your piece will need a second firing after glazing. We will bring back your masterpiece to you the following month.

• Pricing: This workshop is EUR 35/h, including all colors and firing costs.

We can't wait to see what you create!

Practical information

- Location: Subtile Gallery

• Bring an apron or clothes that can get slightly dirty.
• Bring a dish towel and a personal notebook for notes (drawings).
• Materials and clay are provided.

Your creations will be fired in Cathy’s atelier and will be delivered in the gallery few weeks later.

You must be aware that ceramics is not an easy art, and the firing process always carries an element of surprise. Despite Cathy's diligent monitoring, air bubbles can be hidden and may cause the piece to break during firing. This is part of the learning process.

• EUR 120 for 3H of wheel technics
• EUR 35 for 1h of modelling/sculpting
• EUR 35 for 1h glazing

PLEASE NOTE THAT NO REIMBURSEMENT WILL TAKE PLACE IF CANCELLATION OCCURS LESS THAN 7 DAYS BEFORE THE WORKSHOP - PLEASE FEEL FREE TO PROPOSE TO A FRIEND TO REPLACE YOU.
