Art & Design Exhibition: Burst of Light, Glass and Textile Design

A Celebration of Craftsmanship and Sustainability - Exhibition from 14 March till 12 April 2025
Subtile is thrilled to announce our new exhibition, highlighting two exceptional artisans dedicated to environmental respect: Glass Variations and La Gadoue.
Glass Variations showcases the unparalleled expertise of its glass-processing workshops located in the North of France and near Lyon. These workshops seamlessly blend high-performance production equipment with traditional craft techniques, including UV bonding and glass curving. The result is a stunning array of glass creations that exemplify both innovation and artistry.
On the other hand, La Gadoue, a dynamic young duo, breathes new life into recycled materials by transforming old shirts into exquisite textile creations. Their work embodies transparency and creativity, featuring a vibrant palette that captivates the eye while maintaining a commitment to sustainability.
These three artisans are joining forces with the world of Subtile for an entire month to unveil a unique universe that balances beauty, subtlety, materials, and reverence. The Glass Variations furniture collection has recently gained prestigious recognition from the French National Furniture, and La Gadoue has collaborated with one of Belgium's most renowned space designers and scenographers, Lionel Jadot, for the Maison & Objet Fair.
We believe the results will thoroughly delight you!
Join us in exploring this captivating fusion of craftsmanship and sustainability.
The artisan creators
La Gadoue (BE)
Th specificity of Eloïse Maës et Audrey Werthle is their indepth knowledge of materials, their wish to extend the possibilities of creation by twisting traditional technics. They stand between craft and innovation. Their honest research is looking towards natural and sustainable materials as they wish to create objects that are freed from ephemeral trends.
Textile : They have built an expertise in upcycling fabrics according to a circular design model. It allows them to conceive unique solutions for interior and art installations
Ceramics: Their personnal aesthetics are fed by craft and semi-industrial technics that they are using and hacking. Mixing 3D modeling, hand building and mold casting, they let the material express itself. Their objects are raw and refined with a great use of colors.
Glass Variation (FR)
To magnify glass and surprise with exceptional pieces developed with talented designers: this is the ambition of the French publishing house Glass Variations, which offers collections of glass furniture made in France. Extra-clear glass, smokey glass, bronze, colored or frosted glass... enhance timeless pieces and sublimate interiors. Suitable for both domestic and professional environments, the creations combine luxury and contemporary design. Glass Variations offers to customize each piece by choosing from a range of glasses, which is a distinctive benefit. At Glass Variations, the material is shaped by master glaziers in all its “variations”. High-tempered, laminated, printed, curved or tinted, glass becomes a veritable field of creative experimentation for the many designers and studios with whom the brand collaborates.
The first collections, MONOLOG by Exercice, HELIA designed by Bina Baitel and SUBLIME by Bina Baitel, released in September 2022, highlight the beauty of glass and Glass Variations’ craftsmanship. During Paris Design Week in September 2024, Glass Variations unveiled two new collections: ILLUSION and PERSPICIO, resulting from the collaboration with designer Alain Gilles and POOL studio. They mark a new chapter with innovative pieces of great artistic sensibility.
