To Roll, To Crease, To Fold by Marion Delaporte & Alex Palenski – Opening on 18 Septembre 2025

“To Roll, to Crease, to Fold” presents an exploration of movement, drawing, and the act of creation, featuring the works of Marion Delaporte and Alex Palenski. Inspired by Richard Serra’s “Verblist,” this exhibition delves into the relationship between gesture, sculpture, and process. Marion & Alex present a range of works from sculpture to drawings, inviting viewers to contemplate the choreography inherent in the creative act.
Marion Delaporte, an artist and architect based between London and Luxembourg, finds inspiration in dance notations and gestures. Her work explores the translation of two-dimensional drawings into three-dimensional metal sculptures, creating a dialogue between line and form. Marion aims to build in the same way one would dance in a space, translating the fluidity and dynamism of movement into architectural sculptures.
Subtile is glad to host Marion again, following the launch of her captivating “Cocoon” lamps in March 2023, which fascinated a wide audience.

Alex Palenski, defining himself as both a constructor and metal artisan, is passionate about the materials he employs. Steel, aluminum, brass, and copper are cut, folded, hammered, welded, polished, and patinated, revealing his constant quest to refine his art. Alex’s kinetic sculptures capture the subtle movements of air and light, reflecting his fascination with balance, leverage, and mass. Inspired by Calder, his crafts delicate yet structurally sound mobiles that grace collections worldwide.
