What he won’t tell you, behind his reserved demeanor, is the sensitivity that fills his images. Images that are always inhabited, and always a little mysterious. One might even suspect a hint of romanticism, under the red umbrellas that waltz here and there, from one image to the next…

Christophe’s photography often highlights the impact of weather and light on landscapes and urban settings. He captures the beauty of rain-soaked streets, snow-covered scenes, and moody atmospheres, creating a sense of drama and contemplation. His portfolio includes a diverse range of subjects, from bustling cityscapes to serene natural settings. This duality showcases his versatility and ability to convey emotion through various environments.

His style blends realism with artistic interpretation. He often employs long exposure techniques and unique compositions that guide the viewer’s eye and evoke a strong emotional response.

Christophe has published several photography books and has exhibited his works in many galleries over the world like recently in Geneva, Paris and New-York. His work has been praised for its artistic depth and technical skill.

About the Photographer

Born in 1960, Christophe Jacrot first gained recognition in the film industry with several award-winning short films and a feature film that provided Elie Kakou with his final role. He then decided to fully dedicate himself to photography, an art form he has practiced since adolescence. Jacrot developed an artistic project focused on inclement weather, beginning with a series centered on the city of Paris. This project led to the publication of his first book and his first gallery exhibition. Since then, he has published six books: Paris sous la pluie (Le Chêne, 2008); Météores (Hartpon, 2015); Snórj (Hartpon, 2016), reissued in 2017 by Hartpon and in 2023 by Le Chêne; N.Y. in black (Hartpon, 2017); Neiges (Hartpon, 2019); Eaux fortes (Hemeria, 2022); and Lost in Bad Weather (teNeues, 2023).

We are honored that Christophe Jacrot has chosen the Subtile Gallery in Luxembourg to showcase his magnificent photographs.
